  • The Soviet architecture was quite something (although they had me stay in the nearby annex, which felt like I was in an abandoned cottage - no bad thing). The young lady at reception when I arrived had good English and was extremely helpful. My stay in Karaganda was more to visit nearby Dolinka and Temirtau than for the city itself, so being very nearby some commonly-used bus stops was nice.

Chayka Hotel in the heart of the city of Karaganda is lavishly decorated with flowing mesmerizing fabrics and colour. The entrance hall automatically lifts your eyes upwards to the charming ceiling decor. Rooms are cosy, with sufficient space. Bedding was clean and fresh. Bathroom was sparkling clean. Staff was excellent in Chayka, responding to requests with speed, making every effort to communicate effectively. They even called in someone who knew English to interpret for us. In fact, they pampered me very much in this hotel. Meals were diverse, with Kazakh, Asian and European choices. I enjoyed Chayka. Many thanks to everyone there.

I have stayed in VIP house, so it was spacious and clean. WiFi was very good in my house.

It is a renovated Soviet-style hotel, but only partially so, the work is in progress. The room itself was very nice, but the hallways and common areas still need some work.

Соотношение цены и качества идеальное. Когда-то много лет назад, видимо, в этот отель было вложено много денежных средств, мебель и ремонт немного морально устарели, но это не мешает быть чистым, хорошим для своих денег отелем. Из плюсов – огороженная охраняемая зеленая территория и стоянка. Что в Караганде немаловажно, если вы на транспортном средстве. Также понравилась девушка на Ресепшене Юлия. Наши неординарные просьбы по хранению продуктов были удовлетворены полностью. Спасибо.
